When it comes to boating in Destin, there are endless options for all types of travelers. Boating Magazine even named Destin Florida in their list of 10 Best Places to Live and Boat.
Pontoons, power boats, sailboats, wave runners and fishing boats are easy to find in this holiday spot, both for private hire or chartered with a captain. You can hire your watercraft for just a day or for the entirety of your holiday to cruise the sparkling emerald waters of Destin and explore nearby spots like Crab Island and Gulf Islands National Seashore.
Because of the fishing village history of Destin, it’s truly an excellent location to try your hand on a fishing charter for the once-in-a-lifetime chance of reeling in a massive trophy fish. In fact, Destin has more registered fishing charter boats than anywhere else in Florida. On a deep-sea charter, you only need to travel just over 20 miles off the coast to catch Grouper, Red Snapper, Mahi Mahi, Tuna, and many more. The abundance of fish in this spot is due to the massive drop off in the ocean - the seabed plummets to a depth of 600 ft, making it a hot spot to catch the best fish.
A popular boat of choice for hire for many boaters is a fully-loaded beach-ready pontoon, some even complete with a water slide! This is a great option for large families who want someone else to take care of all the little planning details. The calmer waters make it an easy spot for less experienced boaters who want relaxing cruise conditions.
Dolphin tours are a popular choice in Destin, with many offering special experiences like sunset dolphin cruises, private sailing dolphin cruises and dolphin snorkeling off nearby Crab Island.

Absolutely AMAZING experience with Ron! Ron was kind, professional, and super fun. He took care of everything from docking to making sure we had everything we needed, and it doesn’t hurt that he’s easy on the eyes! 10/10 would recommend!!
I would 100% recommend this boat rental. Listing is accurate. Owner was friendly and provided us with a large ice chest filled with ice. Provided information and directions for boat rental in a timely manner. Great communication and quick response.
If unfamiliar with the area establish your landmarks so you know where to return the boat...you must hang out at Crab Island! Bring floats, food and beverages...you'll spend most of the day here. If cruising, check out The Wharf area past the Hwy 98 bridge and the many water front grills, pubs and points of interest.
Would highly recommend renting from Travis, boat was exactly what we expected. He offered to deliver and pick the boat up from the dock where we were staying. Very nice guy to work with. He also gave us fishing tips and areas to explore. I will absolutely rent from him next time I’m down here.
Captain Dan and Esther were absolutely amazing. Extremely friendly, accommodating, and professional. Communication was excellent and very quick. The boat was even better than we could have imagined. I would recommend this tour to anyone wanting a relaxing day on the water.
