As locals we sometimes take it for granted, but Canada’s True North is as special as the Grand Canyon of Colorado, the Great Barrier Reef or the Himalayas. No where else on the planet will you see such pristine wilderness and a panoramic view of mountains and rivers. This is a land of rivers which moulded the country and its people. All our canoes are 17'4" Old Town plastic boats. Rental packages include life vests and paddles. Price for Rental $22 per day Courses We supply Dry suits to all our students for Courses Canoe level 1 Introduction to Canoeing Moving Water— Level I Course includes: Introduction to canoeing and a review of equipment. Instruction covers basic canoe strokes on lakes and rivers, river reading, ferrying and basic river rescue techniques, river travel, stroke improvement, running rapids and safety. Course provides you with the necessary skills to maneuver through Class II rapids. Dates 1st course: May 8, 9 and 10th 2nd course: May 15, 16 and 17th Schedule Friday Evening: 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Schwatka Lake Road Saturday: 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Yukon River Sunday 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Takhini River Includes: All equipment. Cost: $ 195 per person* Canoe level 2 Advanced Canoeing. This course is designed for people with some river paddling experience. We will paddle grade II rivers in solo or tandem canoes. A campout may be involved. Participants should be prepared to swim. Instruction covers basic canoe strokes on lakes, river reading, canoe strokes on rivers, ferrying and rescues, river travel, stroke improvement, running rapids and safety. Course provides you with the necessary skills to maneuver through Class III rapids. Dates 1st course: May 22, 23 and 24th 2nd course: May 29, 30 and 31st Schedule Friday Evening: 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. City Intake Saturday: 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Takhini River Sunday: 9:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. Kathleen River Includes: All equipment.
