White Water Rafting Trips in Clarence

We believes that the higher your skill level the more relaxed you will be and the more fun you can have on the river. A minimum skill level is required to hire a raft from Clarence River Rafting, in order to assess your skills we run a pre-departure training da. In participating in this training we aim to help you identify where the skills in your group are, recognize river hazards and manage your own trip down the river. As seen on the Rivers TV series.  The Clarence / Waiau Toa River : The Clarence / Waiau Toa is one of New Zealand’s longest (225 km) and least known rivers. The river’s source is above Lake Tennyson on the eastern slopes of the Spenser Mountains in the St James Conservation Area. On most of its journey to the sea the Clarence / Waiau Toa flows north east following the Clarence fault, between the Inland and Seaward Kaikoura Ranges. The river continues in this north-easterly direction until cutting through the northern end of the Seaward Kaikoura Mountains and then turning south before flowing into the Pacific Ocean near the settlement of Clarence, 40 km north of Kaikoura. A full safety briefing is given at the river before we begin our journey. A satellite phone is carried on all wilderness trips. River rafting is an adventure activity with a degree of risk.
