Jalisco is a magical region that lies to the southwest of Mexico City. It is a state of great cultural significance, and lives up to its motto — “Jalisco is Mexico” — in its contributions to the international image of Mexico (which include mariachi music and the iconic sombrero). Jalisco boasts a delightfully temperate climate, but if you schedule your boating trip during the winter or spring months, you can skip out on summer’s high humidity and the rainy season that lasts from June through October.
Boating in Jalisco
Jalisco is home to many stunning lakes that are sure to make any boater’s heart sing. Names like Laguna de Sayala and Laguna Atotonilco are as beautiful as their names, as is Lago de Chapala — which is the biggest freshwater lake in the country. The best way to experience these natural treasures is by boat, and you are sure to find many local chartering opportunities that will get you out on the water for a day in the sun surrounded by rolling hills.
Jalisco’s coastline is equally stunning, and boating is one of the most popular pastimes there as well. You can take out watercraft as small as a catamaran, to sleek sailboats and motor yachts, and even palatial mega yachts. Sportfishing is very popular in Jalisco, and there are a number of local fishing charters that can take you to some of the best and richest waters in Mexico.

I couldn’t get online fast enough to leave our review. We had the most amazing time on our 5 hr charter. The crew was top notch crew, food was great and we even saw whales and dolphins on our ride! Hugo was so easy to work with and even booked us a babysitter onboard for our 6 month old. Don’t think twice, book. Best part of our trip.
We boated to Los Arcos and to a low-traffic beach for a bachelorette party. It was beautiful and the captains were very professional. The ceviche was delicious and I would highly recommend this trip!
Great charter. Perfect for a larger group. Ample seating up front to enjoy the view. The crew was very attentive. Food was very good. Thoroughly enjoyed this day.
Our day trip was fantastic. From the captain to the deck mate we had a perfect tripThe guacamole and cerviche were prepared onboard and were very tasty. Our captain Carlos took us on what felt like a customized trip, from snorkeling, swimming, spending time on a beautiful private beach (we were literally alone on the beach) and cruising the beautiful coastline and bay. Our deck mate Aldo was fantastic. From music selection to food prep to keeping our drinks constantly full. He even swam drinks to us from the boat while we relaxed on the private beach. The boat was impressive; plenty of room to layout upfront, sit under canopy at the back of the boat or cool off in the cabin. Hugo even surprised my wife with a cake to celebrate her birthday. Truly a 5 star day for our group of 6.
I can seriously can not say enough great things about our experience. From pre-trip communication, to arrival punctuality, crew professional that find at 5 Star hotels and services to the absolute immaculate condition of the beautiful vessel, this experience blew away every expectation I had by leaps and bounds. THANK YOU so much for giving us a lifetime full of memories in just a short 4 hour trip. Thank you so much! We can’t wait to do it again. Pete
We had an amazing sailing trip on Captain Raul's boat! The crew was very friendly, experienced, and were very knowledgable about the area. They provided beverages and snacks, including some delicious guacamole. They were very attentive to all of us. There were 8 of us on this trip and we fit very comfortably on their boat. It was an amazing day on the water!
