The state of Arizona– frequently referred to as “Arizona’s West Coast” – is not usually the first state you think of when it comes to beautiful beaches, but people love the lakes for their sandy beaches and clear, calm waters. With perfect weather, few waves, and clean freshwater, it’s a great pick for families.
Powerboats and powered watercraft like jet skis and water skis are some of the most popular boat rental options when you want to explore Arizona, but there are growing numbers of kayaks, canoes, SUP, and paddle boats. Since there aren’t any speed limits or size restrictions for boating here, you’ll see a little bit of everything.
When it comes to fishing charters the Arizona is abundant and diverse in its fishing opportunities. Anglers looking for smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, and striped bass will love Cattail Cove. This location is filled with fishing charters and excursions which is a must for avid anglers looking to enjoy the beach life while fishing for bass and catfish.
If you are looking for a boating spot to spend time on, the clear waters of Lake Powell offers nearly 2 million people every year a place to vacation, relax, enjoy all that nature has to offer as well as a respite from the hot, desert summers. Fed by the Colorado River, this reservoir has carved a place for itself on the border of Utah and Arizona. Visitors typically have their spread of boats available for rent near Lake Powell— houseboats, powerboats, and kayaks being among the most popular. Fish are plentiful as well as the sheer, orange, red, and pink sandstone walls that border the blue waters.
Many visitors and locals who visit Arizona take their boating vacation to the next level and rent camping gear alongside the boat of their choice better to zip around the lake and experience a new shore to sleep on each night. After you’ve had your fill of boating, step ashore and explore colorful Antelope Canyon among other national parks, canyons, and historic sites.
Want to take a break from cruising around the lake? The good news is that there are dozens of great beaches to explore on one of Arizona’s top boating locations, Lake Havasu and the Colorado River. The Sandbar is one of the most popular gathering spots, with shallow water and soft sand to post up, watch people, and relax. Another convenient spot is Friendly Island, also known as Beaver Island, just 6.5 kilometers from the London Bridge. It’s easy to pick up and drop off boaters here, and you can even tack on a short camping trip.
The depth and breadth of boating opportunities in Arizona can be surprising to discover. Whether you love to kayak or canoe, fish, water ski or drive a personal watercraft, there are a large number of boats to be had and places to go. On a hot Arizona day, boating is one of the most refreshing things to try. The only unsurprising thing about your boat trip in this region is that you will probably want to go back as often as possible.
While you’re in Arizona, make sure to check out these areas: Mesa, Phoenix, Lake Havasu City, and Peoria.

We had a great time with Javier's boat. When we arrived the boat was already in the water ready to go. Javier took the time to walk us around the features of the boat, and answered any questions we had prior to leaving. He was also very easy to get ahold throughout the day. Thanks again for an incredible day!
Couldn’t have gone smoother! After watching all the folks struggling to even back their vehicles down that north ramp at Lake Pleasant, what a pleasure to have Adrian, his wife, and their 2.5 year old golden retriever meet us right before the ramp, load up all our stuff into the boat, and then expertly drop us off in the water. During our day on the lake, the very nice Sea Doo branded tube that Adrian provided somehow snapped its straps. I contacted Adrian just to let him know because, candidly, I felt bad, not that we were abusive, but it just seemed like such a fluke thing to happen. Anyway, Adrian was actually apologetic himself and then offered to meet us at the ramp inside of an hour with a brand new tube. Class act that really made our day on the water that much more enjoyable! We were scheduled for a 6pm pick up, but that sun was beating us down so I text Adrian to see if he could possibly meet us sooner and, sure enough, he was there within half an hour to pick us up at the ramp. Once on the trailer, he drove us to our truck and we parted ways. A day on the lake could not have gone smoother. Would definitely go again!
Brian and Deborah are amazing, punctual and professional. If you are looking for a chill cruise around the lake, this is your boat. Offered a towing tube and a floating mat. If you are looking for something more adventurous, like wakeboarding and speed, then you should have him take you out on his Tige boat, He will be the Captain so you can just relax and enjoy.
Great guy. His prices were very fair compared to others. He was flexible on our pick up time and even offered early pick up on the boat. Informative, understanding, easy to talk to. I wish every single person I ever rented from could be like Javier 👍. If you're considering renting from him and someone else, choose Javier. The boat was just as described and completely made the experience for our group on the 4th of July.
Do yourself a favor and book this boat. Javier communicates very well. Had a cooler with ice on the boat for us. And we had captain Nate as our captain! He was so fun and knew all the spots to go to.
Nigel and Sarah are amazing! During the booking process they were super communicative, sent great directions, and were flexible as our group figured out timing. Nigel was super helpful in getting us all ready to go on the boat, it was all ready to go as we arrived. Fast orientation with a lot of helpful info and good directions to a place to swim. Getting back was easy, Nigel was waiting on the dock as we arrived and helped us pull in. Overall amazing experience, great hosts, fantastic boat
